OECS examine IOM report on migration, environment, disasters and climate change
THE INTERNATIONAL Organization for Migration (IOM) with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office is hosting a three-day Regional Conference on Human Mobility and Climate Change Data in the Eastern Caribbean. The October 4-6 conferene is engaging high-level officials from the six independent Member States of the OECS (Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenda, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, and St Vincent & the Grenadines) to discuss and examine the new IOM regional report: “Migration, Environment, Disasters and Climate Change Data in the Eastern Caribbean”.
Timely and reliable data are essential for informed decision-making and planning towards sustainable development and climate resilience across the region, a release from the organisers states.
The opening ceremony for the three day event was held yesterday via the zoom platform.
