The St Vincent and the Grenadine Hotel and Tourism Association (SVGHTA) on July 16 received two cheques from the Bay Gardens family in St Lucia in support of the local volcano relief efforts.

The Bay Gardens Family was successful in raising a combined EC$11,000 in relief funds by donating a portion of its direct online bookings over a two month period in partnership with their Loyalty Program partner, The Guest Book. 

In a release the SVGHTA said the presentation was made to Kim Halbich, president of the SVGHTA association and Bianca Porter, Director for Resorts on the Association’s Board of Directors, by Casey Destang Financial Controller of Bay Gardens Resorts.

 The Association expressed its thanks and appreciation for this generous support from the St Lucia resorts, located in Rodney Bay, and said it will shortly be working on the details for the distribution of the funds to affected hospitality and tourism industry employees and their families .
