SVG records 7 new Covid-19 cases, 57 recoveries

St Vincent and the Grenadines on February 24 recorded a total of seven COVID-19 cases for patients seen on February 18, 22, 23 and 24, a release from the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) said.

One of these seven positive cases is a rapid antigen result from February 18 which was submitted  today, February 24. The remaining six cases include one positive for February  22, three for February 23 and two for February 24. 

A total of 142 samples were processed for February 23, yielding three positives  and resulting in a positivity rate of 2.1 per cent for Tuesday, February 23.  

Fifty-seven persons were cleared bringing the number of total recoveries to 905. Six hundred and fifteen cases remain active and six persons with COVID-19 have died. One thousand, five hundred and twenty-six cases of COVID-19 have been reported in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since March 2020.  

The public is reminded to wear a facial covering, physically distance, sanitize hands and get vaccinated to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and the  Grenadines.
