Staff shortage at the prisons should be addressed soonest

Editor: The situation at the prison where there is shortage of staff and officers calling in sick is not a comfortable one and should be addressed in the quickest time.

Security at these institutions should be top priority. With the shortage of staff it means officers are working longer hours and this can contribute to some officers becoming sick. This we know is not healthy. Therefore, efforts must be made to hire more officers and address any issue that would arise from time to time.

The reinstalling of traffic lights with cameras and also cameras in different locations should be considered in this modern time and as a developing nation.
The traffic police officers can then be placed at different points doing stops and searches. Some can be placed at the prisons and others on patrol.
I know these things require money, but in the end it would prove to be profitable in the sense that there would be tighter security and reduction in crimes.
