Respect the greatest name!

EDITOR: Does any normal person like to be treated with disrespect? Certainly not! Unfortunately though, so many persons treat our Creator with disrespect without realizing it. Revelation 4:11. How so? Many sing the song, “I am under the Rock. The Rock is higher than I. JEHOVAH hide/guide me…” Then they associate the name Jehovah with wickedness when they use the expression, “Jehovah Wickedness.” Psalm 83:18 reads: “That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.” (King James Version)

Since God, Jehovah, is the Most High, as this verse clearly shows, then God’s name MUST be the greatest name in the entire Universe! How do you think God feels to have someone connect His Name with wickedness? Is it proper for anyone to disrespect God’s name? Jesus, God’s most precious Son, respected God’s name. (Luke 1:31, 32) In the Lord’s Prayer Jesus taught, “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” Matthew 6:9. “Hallowed” means that we must treat God’s name as holy, pure, and with deepest respect.

Jesus also proudly made His Father’s name known to his apostles and others, as John chapter 17, verses 6 and 26, prove. He had deepest respect for His Father’s name. He would NEVER associate God’s name with wickedness! Let us do like Jesus and show proper respect for the greatest name, JEHOVAH.
