Young people ask: Does God really exist?

Editor,

In recent times, a growing number of youths, especially students in secondary schools, are asking: “Does God really exist?”  Some of them would say: “I cannot see God, so I am not sure that he exists! I believe in what I can see!”

In response, I ask such ones:  Can we see air? Can we see our brain? and so forth. But do we doubt that air or our brain exists because we can’t see them?  Much evidence proves that air and our brain exists. Similarly, abundant evidence also proves that God exists.

A few examples: 1. The sun is 93 million miles away from the earth. Scientists recognize that this is just the right distance for all forms of life to survive on earth. If the earth were closer to the sun, it would be too hot for life to exist; if the earth were further away, it would be too cold for life. Youths, ask yourselves, “Could this have happened by chance?” No way! God put the earth the right distance from the sun.

2. Youths, do you really believe that our marvellous bodies could have come about by chance? Could it have happened by chance that humans just knew that they must eat food and drink water to survive? Could food, water, and air just have happened to form by chance for humans to use and survive? Does that make sense? Or does it make much more sense to believe that a higher power (God) created such for humans and other life forms? Psalm 19:1; Romans 1:20; Hebrews 3:4. We can reason on much more, but space would not allow.  Youths (students and others) and adults who may have doubts, think on these matters for yourselves and do not be influenced by others, who in ignorance say that there is no God. Psalm 14:1.  Yet, some may still ask: “If an all-powerful God exists, why is there so much suffering in the world?”

Please open this link and read the Bible’s answer to that question.https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/bible-teach/why-does-god-allow-suffering/

Pay special attention to paragraphs 10 to 14. Youths, don’t be fooled by anyone; there is a real, Living Almighty God!
