We must never allow the gay lifestyle to be legalized

Editor: I believe most Caribbean people, if not all, are happy for the return of Barack Obama to the presidency of America for a second term. However, it is sad that he reaffirmed his support for same sex marriage.{{more}}

Unlike those who support this lifestyle, no one was born a gay and no one from birth had the gay desire. The Bible tells us that he created male and female, as in the case of Adam and Eve and told them to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:27). He also stated that for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife and they shall become one flesh (Genesis 2:24). Thus, being a gay goes against the very creation of God and is indeed an abomination.

Since it is an abomination, how then can anyone support and practise this lifestyle in the name of freedom of choice? God hates it and considers it so bad that in the Old Testament, a person was put to death for practising such an act: (Leviticus 20:13) “If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”

We know that even in this country, homosexuality is also widespread. We ought not to hate the individuals, nor discriminate against them, but rather hate their practice and lifestyle.

We are indeed living in sad times. We must never allow this lifestyle to be legalized or accepted. I call upon those of us who know Christ as our saviour to be fervent in prayer and speak out against this sickening lifestyle. We should never allow this practice to be accepted in our churches. It is a shame when churches embrace this lifestyle.

GOD loves everyone, including the GAYS, but hates their abominable practice. God is willing to forgive the wrongs. Let us never allow such practice in our home in the name of freedom of choice.
