Accept goodwill with no strings!

Editor: I refer to your article in SEARCHLIGHT of July 23, “Browne, Gonsalves journey to Libya”.{{more}}

After listening to the Libyan President at the recent UN meeting in New York City, I realize that he is not the best company any one can associate themselves with, coupled with his actions long ago as the Libyan President. Nevertheless, if the Libyan government is going to assist SVG with the construction of the Argyle International Airport, I am more than happy with the association. Our government, however, must be careful not to adapt the same political system and environment, which exist in that country.

We must accept any goodwill we can get from them with no “Strings attached.” The US and British governments are not assisting us, rather, especially the British, has taken away what we had in the past; hence, it is time enough to find new companions. The Vincentian public must be ready to support the government in its quest to complete the new airport.
