Democracy or budding theocracy

13.NOV.09

EDITOR:

Cynicism and skepticism occupy an important part in our mental makeup, and having often heard of the Thusians who claim to be a religious organization, dedicated to fighting for religious freedoms for all people, I often wondered about their true agenda.{{more}} These self-styled individuals in their black uniforms bring to our shores an exercise in extreme theocracy that tolerates no dissent. These pretentious individuals innocuously preach the word of God while subliminally serving a political agenda to apparently innocent listeners.

I have no doubt that there will be some attempt to deny that politics is their true aim but can there be any doubt that there are those who have been taken in by their message?

I listened in horror on two separate occasions as the NDP in their no vote campaign introduced Mrs. Baptiste to speak on their platform in such gratuitous and glowing terms that Mr. Eustace must have felt jealous.

Thusians, in order to gain popularity have made a mountain of chaff to bury the truth of what they are, and are in perfect symphony with the NDP in spouting their propaganda and rhetoric.

Let us hope that the NDP leadership soon comes to their collective senses to get rid of these quasi-militant religious extremists from among their ranks and get back to doing the business of the people.

Sincerely
Jack
