Celebrate Christmas in a Godly fashion

Editor: We are in the heart of the Christmas season, and I am sure there will be a high level of alcohol consumption, for many think that to enjoy Christmas they must drink alcohol and consume many substances. How unfortunate!

But we should celebrate Christmas in a godly manner. Not with the involvement of party, pleasure, drinking and even decoration. But have we stopped to think what alcohol can do?{{more}} Many homes today are wrecked as a result of daddy spending his money on alcohol so that there is little left to take care of the family. Spouses are abused under the influence of alcohol.

Some people use alcohol to help ease the stress and problems they encounter. But it never helps, but only makes them addicted. For when the alcohol has passed, the problem still remains there. This causes many social ills in our society and has contributed to some extent to the crimes in our nation.

Besides the health problems that can occur, strong drink (alcohol), the Bible says, is raging, and whosoever gets deceived by it is not wise. How sad that this nation is so involved in heavy drinking of alcohol.

All is not lost. There is hope. Jesus Christ is able to help a person break that addiction, and gives that individual a sanity and restores the family.

Let us in the Christmas season stay away as much as possible from the strong drink and focus on worshipping the Lord Jesus by letting Him control every member of our body so we would have a blessed Christmas where Christ’s purpose for coming to earth will be realized in our lives.

Thank you and God bless.
