Big Boyz Toyz – Auto crazed evening

23.FEB.07

Editor: For many men, the desire to design and create never ends. Female psychologists say it’s because men can’t make children, that’s why they enjoy creating things with their hands.

On Sunday, February 4, we all had an opportunity to visualize some of these creations. Tha’ Hook Up SVG, Street Wise & Auto Tech Trinidad merged together to pull off an auto show dubbed Big Boyz Toyz. It was like burning rubber while moving off in 3rd gear! Eighteen well-designed cars and 53 car enthusiasts braved the waters from Trinidad to SVG to make an appearance.{{more}} Vincy and Trini cars ranged from a 1980 Datsun 1600 “The Mad Cow” to the 2004 Nissan Skyline R34 GTR.

Many came out and it was great to see the large crowd of auto fanatics. I was amazed by how the Bay-view car park was transformed into an auto crazed assembly. Burnt rubber, hydraulic suspension systems, creative paint designs and battling audio systems challenged all five human senses in such a satisfactory way. Cameras flashed from everywhere, kids argued with each other for ownership of these creations and a real social atmosphere was generated.

Modification of cars is becoming popular over the years in SVG and designers, auto mechanics and car owners need opportunities to share and perform their skills. Kudos to the promoters of these types of shows and as a lover of the sport I must say I enjoyed the show that Sunday evening, I guess many will say the same also.
