Mr. Norbert Patrick

Born in Layou

As a boy he loved the sea, he started fishing at about age seven. At the age of sixteen he got a job on a boat travelling to Trinidad. He moved to a ship call Peusecola Bay, travelling to the USA (in Trinidad). He studied engineering and worked on American Ships. He became the Chief Engineer on American Merchant Marine during the Vietnam War. He came home several times and never missed church.

Norbert became a member of Good Shepherd on June 18th, 1995. He became active right from the start ushering, serving on the Church Council, working on the grounds every Friday. He served in the Coast Guard Merchant Marines during Vietnam, Desert Shield and Desert Strom. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 1501 in Crystal River and the American Maritime Officers.

Survivors include three sons, Norbert Patrick Jr of Lecanto, Donn Williams of Bronx, NY and Allen Patrick of Indiana, sisters Lenore Cox St. Albans, NY and Sil Brent of Atlanta, brothers Hermus Patrick and Vincent Patrick both of St. Vincent, and five grandchildren Christopher, Aristotle, Osirus, Masiah and Sharday all of Lecanto.

He is sadly missed by all his family and friends in Layou.
