Dr Gonsalves signs Book of Condolences at Embassy of Venezuela
Leader of the Unity Labour Party (ULP) Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, signed the Book of Condolences at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in honour of the more than 100 persons (Cuban and Venezuelan) killed by American military forces during a strike on Venezuela in the early hours of Saturday morning, January 3, 2026.
Writing in the book, Dr. Gonsalves stated that the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines are “in solidarity with the government and people of the Bolivian Republic of Venezuela at this moment of national pain and suffering, as a consequence of the breach of international law and the kidnapping of President Maduro and his wife by the US armed forces on January 3rd, 2026”.
Further, that “The heroic acts of those who protected President Maduro are to be applauded. Those who lost their lives in defense of the leadership of the Bolivian Republic are deeply honoured by us. Their families are in our prayers for love and solidarity, etc. We send a special fraternal love and solidarity to (Vice-president) Delcy Rodriguez, and her comrades in their continued defense of the Bolivarian movement against neocolonial forces. In solidarity, always”.
