CXC moving to digitize Examinations
The Caribbean Examinations Council, CXC, is keeping up with technology and is moving to have its examinations digitized.
Affirmation of this came from CXC Registrar, Dr Wayne Wesley, on Wednesday January, 7 2026 at a regional hybrid media conference held in Jamaica.
He said that over 10,000 candidates are currently sitting the January Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams which will conclude on January, 29 2026.
The January exams are paper 2 in English B and Human and Social Biology (HSB).
“We are pleased to say that we are administering these January examinations on screen, employing our digital e-assessment and hybrid e-assessment approach.
“It is our intention to offer all exams on screen in the next three to five years,” the CXC Registrar stated.
He further explained that after these January exams, they will begin to prepare for the May/June CSEC exams with over 100,000 candidates across the region.
“The work at CXC never stops,” the registrar noted.
During the news conference on Wednesday, Dr Wesley also made it clear that the Caribbean Examinations Council understands its assignment for the people of the Caribbean.
“The people of our region value the work of CXC, they have accepted with certainty, that our world class credentials open definitive pathways to higher learning and the world of work.”
