Collaboration needed for more growth, says Tourism Authority President
GENERAL MANAGER OF Grenadine House and President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA) Isola Giddings, says the country’s tourism sector is on a firm path of growth, but stakeholders must work together.
“It is not I and me, but it is us, because we are growing St Vincent and everything we do, we must do it positively…,” Giddings said on Monday, September 15, 2025.
The SVGTA head also said that stakeholders should do everything to ensure that the visitor experience is so great that before a visitor leaves, they should be booking their next stay.
Giddings was speaking at the State of the Tourism Industry Stakeholder’s Conference at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown which was being held under the theme, “Strength in Unity: Advancing the Vincentian Visitor’s Experience” Giddings noted that since her return to St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) in December 2014, she has witnessed significant progress in the industry, particularly in the years following the volcanic eruption and the COVID-19 pandemic.
She said recently there was a report that spoke of a 27% increase in visitor arrivals, and these figures are encouraging signs of recovery and expansion.
