VincyCares awards 19 scholarships at 2025 Disbursement Ceremony
VINCYCARES, A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION committed to providing educational opportunities to less fortunate children in St Vincent and the Grenadines(SVG) awarded 19 scholarship payments to students for the 2025/2026 academic year at a ceremony held on July, 9, 2025 at the Kingstown Methodist Church Hall. Seventeen students received the annual instalment of their five-year secondary school scholarships, while two students received payments under a two-year tertiary scholarship, a release from the organisation states.
The event opened with a prayer, and was followed by remarks from President, Gillian Arthur, who reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to VincyCares’ mission, reflecting on the programme’s impact on students and families across SVG.
“Witnessing the difference this support makes year after year is what makes the hard work truly worthwhile,” Arthur said. Other Board members present introduced themselves and also offered encouragement to the students. Special guest, Ivan Morgan, President of the St Martin’s Secondary School Past Students Association (SAMPASA), also addressed the gathering. SAMPASA currently sponsors a five-year scholarship in memory of Ainsworth “Ainsy” Andrews, a beloved alumnus of St. Martin’s Secondary School. Through this partnership with VincyCares, one student attending the school receives annual financial support. Morgan encouraged the students to rise above financial obstacles and remain focused on their long-term goals.
