Government to undertake Rapid Road Repair Programme

Throughout St Vincent and the Grenadines there is going to be a rapid repair of roads that are in need of urgent rehabilitation.

That is the word from Minister of Transport and Works, Montgomery Daniel, who spoke about the matter on NBC Radio on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 as he deputised for Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, who was out of state.

He said this programme will run alongside ongoing road repairs that are ongoing in several areas. Minister Daniel outlined that the rapid repair programme will be spearheaded by the Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA), and the engineering firm DIPCON.

“Discussions are now ongoing to finalize all of the arrangements,” Minister Daniel said.

The rapid road repair programme was approved at a recent meeting of Cabinet at which the management of the two entities identified to undertake the work, met with the Prime Minister.

Daniel stressed that the rapid programme will be on roads that are in need of urgent repairs, noting that there are many roads which continue to deteriorate and are in need of emergency attention.
