National Public Library to ‘CLAP: for fun’ this Summer

The National Public Library (NPL) Summer Programme “CLAP: for fun”, is set to commence on July, 21, 2025 under the theme, “Libraries: your gateway to adventure”.

Designed to promote literacy, creativity, and cultural awareness among children aged 5 – 13 years, the NPL said in a release that the three-week long programme will feature a wide range of interactive activities including storytelling, reading challenges, art and craft, music, drama, cultural heritage sessions, and sporting events, among others. The activities are tailored to stimulate young minds and foster a love for reading and learning, the release outlined.

CLAP: for fun, will this year run from July, 21 – August ,8, at the National Public Library, involving 66 children. The programme is also being offered by various branch libraries across the country during the summer break, capturing 95 participants.

The NPL said its annual nationwide programme is a dynamic and engaging initiative organized by the National Public Library, Archives and Documentation Services (NPLADS). It is often supported by a network of library staff, volunteers and community partners, and it remains a cornerstone of NPLADS’ commitment to childhood development, education and community engagement.
