SVG to partner with US Medical Supply Foundation

Two representatives from the Afya Foundation of the United States are in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) on a fact-finding mission, assessing how they can help to bolster this country’s health care system.

Danielle Butin and Heather Clarke, arrived on Sunday, July 13,2025 and will visit health care facilities nationwide during the course of their visit, and hold discussions with key stakeholders in health, a release from the Agency For Public Information states.

The foundation ships medical supplies to countries around the world, filling a major gap in the global medical supply chain and responding to urgent humanitarian needs.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Nerissa Gittens-McMillan, said the visit comes at an opportune time as the United States has significantly cut aid globally.

McMillan also noted that health care is expensive and this country is delighted to partner with the Afya Foundation.

Afya Foundation’s representative Danielle Butin, in response, said they partner with hospitals in New York and are delighted to partner with St Vincent and the Grenadines. (API)
