CDC already planning for VincyMas 2026, says CEO Rodney Small
VincyMas is no longer a seasonal event says Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC), Rodney Small.
“…we at the CDC office, we have outlined a four phase strategic plan that is going to start from as early as September…” Small said at a press conference at Victoria Park on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
The new CEO who was this year administering VincyMas for the first time said that after the CDC has completed evaluations, debriefings and post mortems, “we’re going to start the ball rolling from as early as September.”
He said that marketing will continue as the CDC still has a lot of regional and international media houses and influences
here.
“…what I could tell you, from as early of September, we’re going to look at our four phases, and these phases include planning and foundation, capacity building and training, networking and community engagement, marketing and pre-season events….”
Small said that already those phases are going to commence as early as September, and their agenda will deal with such things as retreats, round table conversations, debriefing, team assignments and looking at the different departments and budgeting among other things.,
He said that the CDC will also do bonding sessions with the components while looking to connect with the different carnivals throughout the region and internationally.
“… not just the usual suspects, but to see how we can move into some other borders that we have not been in touch with; and of course, looking at the overall launch of VincyMas in the different territories,” Small said.
He noted as well that on a month to month basis, people can expect to see activities from the CDC as they keep the energy up for VincyMas 2026.
“We want to keep things alive. We do not want to go to sleep and then wake up… as the song say ‘No sleeping’.
So, as I said, we are going to be in your faces. We’re going to be engaging you, and as I mentioned engaging you right now, you can go on our social media platforms, our survey’s right there. So, take a minute and go and fill out the survey, give us your feedback, because, as I said, from September, we want to start implementing a lot of different things,” Small stressed.
