Science and Mathematics lover, Raffique Latchman, can brag of being the only student in St Vincent and the Grenadines to score 100 percent in Science in this year’s CPEA.

Raffique’s academic prowess saw him taking fourth place in the 2025 Kingstown Cooperative Credit Union (KCCU) Mastermind Primary Schools Quiz, back in March this year.

His Mathematics and Science teacher, Kamara Primus, told SEARCHLIGHT that Raffique was selected to represent the school based on his academic performance. Primus said during preparation for the Mastermind School quiz she was pleased with Raffique’s willingness to put in additional effort for the competition.

For the CPEA, Primus said she was confident that Raffique would emerge as a top performer as she recognized that he was “self-driven” in his approach to his school work.

“I always knew from the beginning that Raffique would make it to the top ten,” Primus said.

Raffique told SEARCHLIGHT with Mathematics and Science being his favourite subjects, he was able to “breeze through” those papers, attaining full marks in Science and 74/75 in Mathematics.

He said he was “relieved” to have the examination over, considering that his nerves kicked up the day before the two-day assessment.

Raffique is looking forward to his secondary school journey and to see what the offering for extra-curricular activities will be when he starts at the St Vincent Grammar School in September.
