A Rose Place man who was convicted for the 39th time, after he was caught with 964 grammes of cannabis in his shop said he was being spitefully treated by the police.
Patrick Nero, 60, appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate, Colin John, on June, 16, 2025, where he pleaded guilty that on March, 18, 2025 at Kingstown, he had in his possession 964 grammes of cannabis with intent to supply it to another.
On the date in question at about 9:30 p.m, PC 8 Thomas was among a party of personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on duty in Kingstown.
On arrival at Little Tokyo, PC Thomas identified himself as a police officer and requested a search on persons who were in the vicinity.
Upon entering a shop, PC Thomas saw Nero and requested a search on the premises, to which he consented. Thomas searched the premises in Nero’s presence and discovered three packages of plant-like substance resembling cannabis wrapped in plastic on a counter at the back of the shop.
