PM commends Public Service Choir, urges them to record
The musical rendition done by the Public Service Choir at the start of Public Service Week, on Monday, June 16, 2025, has prompted Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves to encourage the singers to put together a recorded compilation.
Speaking at the New Testament Church at Wilson Hill to an assembly that included public servants and civil society leaders, Prime Minister Gonsalves praised the musical renditions, saying the singing was of an “exceptionally high quality”.
He suggested that the group should do a recording for public release sometime around August, and promised that the production would receive the support of the government.
The Prime Minister suggested as well that the recording should be done in the various media formats, “and hopefully… all your songs are hit. We’re going to have you go touring…this is a very impressive set of renditions we had here this morning. I was very moved by the exceptionally high quality of the performance.”
He said the recording should be done “quickly” and “hopefully if we can have it done over the next few weeks, so that you can release, perhaps in time for August the 1st for the commemoration of the emancipation of enslaved African bodies.”
