Thief man ordered to compensate victim

A 24-year-old resident of Cane Garden who pleaded guilty to a charge of theft was ordered to pay compensation, and was also slapped with a jail sentence, suspended for one year.

Kelorne George was arrested on June, 4, 2025 and charged with stealing a quantity of items valued at EC $175.00, and EC $20.00 in cash from a 29-year-old administrative assistant of Ottley Hall, the police said in a release.

The offence was committed in Kingstown. When George appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on June 5, 2025, and pleaded guilty to the charge. He was ordered to compensate the complainant forthwith in the sum of EC$30.00. He was also given a three-month sentence at His Majesty’s Prison, suspended for one year.
