Michael Jackson jailed for illegal firearm and ammunition possession
A LOWMANS WINDWARD man, who was caught walking in the vicinity of a Pentecostal Church in his community with a loaded pistol, then was found with a shotgun and ammunition at his home about six months later, was sentenced to three years in prison.
Michael Jackson appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate, Colin John, on May 20 where he pleaded guilty that on September 18, 2024 he had in his possession one Glock nineteen 9 mm pistol serial number BKZR559 and 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition without a license issued under the Firearm Act.
Jackson also confessed that on March 23, 2025 at Lowmans Windward, he had in his possession one 12-gauge shotgun and seven rounds of 12-gauge ammunition.
While on patrol in the Lowmans Windward area at about 6:30 p.m in the vicinity of the Pentecostal Church on September, 18, 2024, police officers spotted Jackson walking along the public road towards the transport with a one strap bag around his neck, and a pizza in his hand.
When the driver stopped the transport, PC 468 Forde along with other members of the Rapid Response Unit got out and approached Jackson, who began shouting “me nah have nothing ah pizza me get, me nah have nothing ah pizza me get”.
PC Forde identified himself and the officers to Jackson and informed him of their duties.
Jackson continued to say “me nah have nothing officer, is pizza me get.” The police searched Jackson but found nothing illegal.
When the police searched his bag, a black firearm was seen inside. When Jackson was cautioned, he replied, “it’s a gun, me found it in a van.”
