Man with 46 convictions to be sentenced for stealing from church
A 45YEAR OLD man who has been convicted 46 times, is awaiting sentencing after he confessed to six more offences, including stealing a transformer and an extension cord from the Roman Catholic Church, Kingstown.
Alvan Richardson, whose address is listed as Rockies, Kingstown, and Diamond, appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate,Tammika McKenzie on April 23, 2025 where he pleaded guilty to stealing one Grey 2500 watts transformer valued at EC$855.00, and one white extension cord valued at EC$35.00, a total value EC$890.00, the property of the Roman Catholic Church.
The offence was committed in Kingstown on March 1, 2025.
Richardson also pleaded guilty that on July 26 and 29, 2024 at Kingstown, he entered the storeroom of Shylock McFee as a trespasser and stole one pair of black Puma Roma shoes size 10.5, valued $350.00; one pair of white Nautica shoes size 8.5, valued EC$280; one pair of blue Nike shoes size 9, valued EC$250.00; one pair of grey Nike shoes size nine, valued $250.00; one pair of blue Jordan shoes size five, valued $350.00; one pair of grey Puma football shoes size eight, valued $280.00; one pair of black and red Adidas football shoes size 8, value EC$280.00; one pair of white Adidas Football Shoes size 9, one white Adidas football shoes size 8, valued EC$280.00; one pair of pink and white Adidas shoes size 10, valued at $280.00; one pair of blue kids football shoes EC$180.00; three knives valued EC$180; two universal remotes valued EC$140.00; one Fire TV stick valued EC$280.00; five caramel packs valued EC$300.00; one grey mat valued EC$40.00; one blue mat valued EC$40; one brown mat valued EC$40.00; three pairs of black Spike shoes valued EC$540.00; two orange Spike Shoes valued EC$360.00, one pair of white Spike shoes valued EC$180.00; one pair of green Spike shoes valued EC$180.00; one pair of blue Puma Shoes size 8, valued at EC$250.00; two black jeans pants valued at EC$120.00; and two T-shirts valued at EC$100, a total value EC$6,090., the property of Shylock McFee of Largo Height.
Richardson also pleaded guilty that on March 11, 2025 in Kingstown, he entered the yard of the Teachers Co-operative Credit Union Ltd with intent to commit the offence of theft; and without lawful excuse damaged one 2×2 Casement Vent valued EC$78.45, the property of the Teacher Co-operative Credit Union Ltd, intending to damage such property.
The defendant pleaded guilty as well that on July 28, 2024, in Kingstown he entered upon the property of Twin City with the intent to commit the offense of theft, and on the same date, entered the store room of the General Employees Corporative Credit Union Ltd (GECCU) as a trespasser and stole two one-gallon buckets of paint, two two-and-a-half gallon buckets of paint- one Orange and one White, brand unknown valued EC$384.20; one case of paper towels, brand unknown- valued EC$55.00, a total value of EC$759.20, the Property of GECCU, Kingstown.
The Senior Magistrate, who noted that Richardson has 46 convictions, adjourned the sentencing to Thursday, May 15, 2025. However, the matter is likely to be adjourned again to a later date, as there will be no Magistrate’s Court until May 20, 2025.
