Officer Charged in Traffic Violation Case
A police officer, alleged to have aided and abetted a civilian to break traffic regulations, has been charged, and will appear in court on May 12,2025 to answer to the charge.
A release from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), said that two residents of Chester Cottage were arrested and charged in connection with a series of traffic offences involving motor vehicle H5353.
The release said according to investigations, on May 2, 2025, and again on May 6, 2025, Kyla Chaz Patrick, a 24-year-old labourer, was seen driving motor vehicle H5353 along the Georgetown Public Road. At the time, Patrick was not the holder of a valid driver’s permit, and there was no insurance policy in force in respect of third-party risk for the said vehicle.
As a result, Patrick was charged with:
Driving without being the holder of a driver’s permit; and driving without there being in force a policy of insurance in respect of third-party risk.
