Sales clerk accused of theft, granted bail
A 53-year-old sales clerk of Layou, alleged to have stolen EC$ 1,000 from a Diamond resident, was granted bail when he appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on April, 28, 2025.
The police said in a release that Silas Paul Parris was arrested on April, 4, 2025 and charged with the offense of theft. He is alleged to have stolen the money, said to be the property of a 34-year-old resident of Diamond on April, 17, 2025 in Kingstown.
Parris pleaded not guilty when he appeared in court; he was granted bail in the sum of EC $1,000.00 with one surety, and ordered to have no contact with the complainant. Additionally, Parris must report to the Central Police Station every Tuesday between 6:00 a.m and 6:00 p.m.
His trial date is set for January 21, 2026.
