Two men shot and killed over the weekend

The homicide count in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), rose to 25 over the weekend when two men were shot and killed in separate incidents in two different communities.

The first homicide took place on Friday night, June 28, 2024, in Diamond when two masked gunmen reportedly shot and killed Kimani “Mani” Richards, a 46-year-old mechanic who was sitting with friends at a shop in the area.

Then at about 2:00 p.m. on Saturday June 29, 2024, in Ottley Hall, Ekron Edwards, a 33-year-old minibus driver was shot and killed.

Edwards, reportedly, was killed by a masked assailant while providing transporting passengers in the Ottley Hall community.

Several persons were in the minibus at the time of the shooting, one of whom, a woman, fled the front passenger seat when the driver was attacked. None of the passengers was injured in the attack. The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVPF), said they have launched an investigation into these homicides.
