Timmy School past students plan reunion

Plans are said to be well on stream by former students of the Intermediate High School (IHS), to hold a reunion.

The reunion is tentatively scheduled for October 2025, a release from the organisers state. The IHS, is also fondly known as “Timmy School”, after its longest serving principal, Bertram “Timmy” Richards now deceased.

The initiative for the reunion came from past students who are living both overseas and locally who have decided that it was time to reconnect after several years in their various fields of work.

A committee has been formed to finalize plans for this activity targeting IHS students from the years 1979 to 1985. The committee is headed by Earl “Ole George” Daniel as chairperson, and also comprises Tyrone Creese as vice chair; Vernice Preddie as secretary; and Wayne Williams, treasurer. The assistant secretary/treasurer is Albena Samuel/Jack; public relations officer, Leopold Dopwell; with committee members in Sherma Drakes, Gillian Martin and Donna Findlay.

The organising committee said they have formed a Watsapp chat to keep all past students and teachers from that period informed of plans, as well as being the medium to get suggestions so that the planning committee can incorporate their ideas to make the reunion a memorable occasion. The organising executive held its first meeting on June 6, 2024, when it decided on October 25, 2025 as the tentative date for the main reunion activity.

PRO, Dopwell said the committee is looking forward to the full participation of students from the period 1979 to 1985 to make the reunion a memorable event.
