CXC mounts probe into distribution of exam paper

THE Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) said it has commenced investigations into circumstances surrounding an issue which occurred with the distribution of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC Principles of Accounts Paper 02, at specific centres. In a brief notice the CXC said it “understands that any uncertainty around examinations can cause anxiety and we wish to assure candidates and parents that these matters are treated with the highest urgency”.

Further that “Once we have completed our investigations, the appropriate action will be taken.” In May, 17, 2023, the regional examination body had to launch an investigation following concerns that the CSEC Mathematics Paper 02 had been leaked prior to the administration of the exam that day. Their investigations led to identification of the breach having originated at a particular centre in Jamaica.
