Work progressing to have a Digital Single Window for land and property Transactions

The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP) will this week be advancing efforts to implement a Digital single window for land and property transactions.

This is through a three-day workshop scheduled to open today, April 23,2024 at Frenches House in Kingstown. The workshop will begin with an opening ceremony at 9:00 a.m and will bring together critical stakeholders with varying degrees of involvement in land management.

The objective of the workshop is to develop functional requirements and specifications for the implementation of the Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (National Spatial Data Infrastructure), parcel-based Land Information System, and the Electronic Single Window for Land and Property Transactions.

The workshop will also feature key professionals who will share insightful contributions to the discussions drawing from a wealth of regional and global leading practices in the field. The primary agenda for the workshop includes information sharing on the overall SWLPTS project; discussion on institutional frameworks; data sharing protocols; mapping and software development; discussion of process workflows; and the vision for an integrated Land Information System (LIS).

The Single Window for Land and Property Transactions is one of the major components of the Caribbean Digital Transformation project, which promises to revolutionize the way government services are delivered and accessed by citizens and businesses in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves will deliver the feature address at the opening of the workshop.

Other speakers include the deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Works, Land, and Surveys and Physical Planning, Montgomery Daniel; Minister of Finance, Economic Planning, and Information Technology, Camillo Gonsalves; CARDTP project coordinator, Winston George; and land management officer from the land and surveys department, Corliss Murray.

Permanent secretaries and heads of departments within the stakeholder ministries; heads of statutory corporations or their representatives; members of the private sector; representatives from the ECCB; the World Bank; and consultants Ernst &Young are among listed participants to attend the forum.
