Park Hill man charged with death of two men found tied and burnt

A resident of the community where the bodies of two men were found tied with rope and burnt has been officially charged with murder.

The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) made the breakthrough in the investigation of a grave incident reported in the Park Hill area on Monday April 8. Up to Wednesday, three individuals had been apprehended for questioning in connection with the death of the men identified as Marvin Barker and Calvert ‘Vert’ Smart.

The accused is, Aldon Thomas, from Park Hill and is charged with both murders which allegedly occurred between April 6 and 9.  It is claimed that Thomas, with malice aforethought, unlawfully caused the deaths of Barker and Smart by an unlawful act, contravening Chapter 171, Section 159, subsection 1 of the revised edition of the laws of SVG, 2009.

Thomas is expected to appear before the Serious Offences Court today to face these charges. A post-mortem examination is also scheduled to be carried out on the bodies of the deceased today April 11, 2024 to ascertain the cause of death.
