Glenside footpath and Dumbarton River defence projects completed

Two major projects which connect communities in Marriaqua have been completed.

These are: a new footpath which connects the Glenside community to the main road, and the Dumbarton River Defence.

The Glenside Footpath is approximately 758ft long, complete with safety rails and drains, and was done under the Basic Needs Trust Fund at a cost of over $400,000.

Parliamentary Representative for Marriaqua, St Clair Prince said these projects are much needed and critical to the development of the area and they follow on the heels of the newly opened Glenside Recreation Centre.

There are a number of ongoing projects in Marriaqua including the Sayers-Macmillan Road; the Marriaqua Civic Centre; the Hackshaw bank realignment road; the Carriere main road; and Jumbie Gutter/Benjamin Bristol Road with several more soon to begin including the Marriaqua Technical Centre (API).
