Man found dead in Orange Hill

A man who was known to be a habitual user of alcohol was found dead in the Orange Hill area yesterday afternoon, Thursday, March 7, 2024.

The deceased has been identified as Doxford Lavia, who is commonly known as ‘Beef.’

The body was removed to the Kingstown mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Lavia who was in his early 50’s was well known in the Sandy Bay area.

He is originally from Sandy Bay but moved to Orange Hill with his family.

SEARCHLIGHT understands that the family had received one of the first sets of houses which the Government had distributed at Orange Hill.

The houses were handed over as part of the rebuilding process in the aftermath of the eruption of La Soufriere Volcano in April 2021.

Police are conducting investigations into Lavia’s death.
