Acting Police Commissioner says thanks for re-capture of ‘Grenada trio’

Acting Police Commissioner, Enville Williams has commended his officers and others for the role they played in capturing three Grenadian fugitives who fled a police station in Grenada where they were being held on several criminal charges.

“I wish to express thanks to all of the persons who played a role in the recapture of the three Grenadians who had escaped custody in Grenada and were later apprehended in St. Vincent,” the Acting Commissioner said in a statement issued by the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF).

“ I particularly wish to commend the police officers for their valiant effort, members of the SVG Coast Guard Service who conducted search and rescue operations for the missing persons, and residents of the community of Petit Bordel for refusing to provide a haven for the escapees.”

The three Grenadians appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate Court yesterday March 4, 2024 for sentencing having pleaded guilty earlier to four counts of immigration related violations.

Senior Magistrate, Colin John issued a Removal Order for the men to be repatriated to Grenada and remanded them into custody at His Majesty’s Prison until preparations are finalized for their removal from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
