Young male remanded in connection with Campden Park murder

An 18 year old male who is charged in connection with the Valentines Day murder in Campden Park has been remanded into custody.

Campden park resident, Kayode Richardson, appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on February 19, 2024, before Senior Magistrate Colin John where he was charged that on February 14, 2024 at Campden Park with malice aforethought he caused the death of Carona Themisha Petronia Jennings of Campden Park by an unlawful act.

A postmortem examination was conducted on the deceased 30 year old on Friday February, 16, 2024. The pathologist has determined that Jennings died from ‘Exsanguination due to multiple sharp force injuries.’

Senior magistrate John informed Richardson that since the offence is laid indictably, he was not required to plea. John also told Richardson that bail also is not an option due to the serious nature of the offence. Therefore, he will be remanded into custody until his preliminary inquiry.

This matter is adjourned to June 10, 2024 at the Serious Offences Court.
