Food vendor charged for alleged assault on Auxiliary Police Woman

A 29 year old food vendor of Layou was granted bail when he appeared in court charged for allegedly wounding an Auxiliary Police Officer.

Daniel Patrick appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on January 31, and pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was granted bail in the sum of EC$3000.00 with one surety and was ordered by the court to not have any contact with the virtual complainant.

Patrick was arrested on Wednesday January 31, and charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding a 34-year-old Auxiliary Police Officer by striking her on the forehead with a wooden chair. The police said in a release that the offence was alleged to have been committed at the Cruise Ship Terminal, Kingstown, at about 12:05 p.m. on December 9, 2023. The matter has been adjourned to April 23, 2024 for trial.
