‘Pan in de Streets’ hits Georgetown this weekend

The sweet strains of steel pan will be heard in Georgetown this weekend as the Youlou Pan Movement (YPM) takes its music into the communities.

On Sunday February 4, the YPM will stage a free concert at the Chilli Playing Field in Georgetown from 4:00 p.m. This follows a similar offering held in South Rivers on October 8,2023, a release from the YPM states.

“Our steel orchestras are eager and ready to perform for yet another great occasion…

“This is to spread the sweet sound of Steel pan music to rural areas to show our love and appreciation for the art-form.”

The YPM is inviting the public “to celebrate with us.”
