Conrad Sayers to be accorded official funeral

Former Member of Parliament for Central Kingstown, Conrad Sayers will be accorded an official funeral.

Sayers died on Saturday December 30,2023 after a period of illness.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the official funeral takes place next Monday January 29 at the Kingstown Baptist Church.

Apart from his service as a politician, Sayers was also a religious leader, and agriculturist, and former President of the Public Service Union.

He was elected in 2001 on a Unity Labour Party ticket, and again in 2005 and served as Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also in the office of the Prime Minister.

Sayers was the father of five children. He demitted public office in 2010.
