Man remanded for allegedly cracking man’s skull

A man whose address is listed as Sandy Bay and Arnos Vale has been remanded into custody after he was accused of cracking a man’s skull.

Vivian Sutherland appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate Court on Monday, January 8 before Senior Magistrate, Colin John where he was charged for the indictable offence that on January, 5, 2024 at Arnos Vale, he unlawfully and maliciously caused grievous bodily harm to Asquith Blugh of Diamond with intent so to do.

John informed Sutherland that indictable means that due to the seriousness of the allegation, he is not required to plea to the offence, and that the matter may go to trial at the High Court.

Acting Corporal Corlene Samuel, and PC Delano Charles who served as prosecutors in the matter objected to bail, as Blugh, who suffered a cracked skull, is still warded at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital(MCMH).

John granted the prosecution’s request and adjourned the matter to January 15, 2024.
