24 year old pleads not guilty to gun and ammunition charges

A 24 year old man accused of being in illegal possession of gun and ammunition was granted bail after denying the offence.

Connell Jack appeared at the Kingstown Magistrates Court before Senior Magistrate, Colin John on Friday, January 5 where he pleaded not guilty that on January 4, 2024 at Ottley Hall he had in his possession one Glock 28 Pistol without a license issued under the Firearm Act.

He also entered a not guilty plea that on January 4, 2024, at Ottley Hall he had in his possession nine rounds of .380 mm ammunition without a license issued under the Firearm Act.

Prosecutor Corlene Samuel did not object to him being granted bail.

The magistrate granted Jack bail in the sum of $5,000 with one surety. Jack was also ordered to report to the Central Police Station from 8:00 a.m-8:00 p.m on Mondays. He is also to surrender all travel documents, and stop notices are ordered to be placed at all points of entry and exit.

The matter is adjourned and transferred to January, 22 2024 at the Serious Offences Court (SOC).
