21-year-old charged with murder of older brother

A 21-year-old who allegedly inflicted grievous bodily harm on his brother during an altercation has been charged with murder in connection with the older man’s death.

Azarie McIntosh was not required to plea to the indictable charge that on October 31, 2023 at Calliaqua, with malice aforethought he caused the death of Zackry McIntosh, a 31-year-old labourer of the same address.

According to a press release from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), Zackry received injuries to his body on Tuesday, October 31, and was taken to the Calliaqua Health Centre for treatment on Wednesday, November 1.

Later the same day, Zackry was transferred to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital(MCMH) where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries on Friday, November 3.

A postmortem examination revealed that Zackry died as a result of blunt trauma to the abdomen.

Azarie was arraigned at the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday, November 7 and was remanded in custody at His Majesty’s Prison. The matter was adjourned to January 16, 2024 for a Preliminary Inquiry.
