Clare Valley men to answer charges of wounding

Clare Valley residents, 28-year-old Lendon Pierre and 30-year-old Calroy Bruce appeared at the Serious Offences Court yesterday, before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne for a Preliminary Inquiry into an indictable charge.

The men were charged that on June 18, 2022 at Clare Valley, they entered the dwelling house of Derry Thomas of Clare Valley as a trespasser and at the time of so doing had a weapon of offence, a Sunset strong rum bottle.

They were also charged that on June 18, 2022 at Clare Valley they did unlawfully and maliciously wound Derry Thomas of Clare Valley.

Several witnesses were called to testify during the proceedings.

The matter was first heard at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court where the men were not required to plea to their indictable charges. The matter was then adjourned and transferred to the SOC for Preliminary Inquiry.

Bruce was placed on bail in the sum of $3000 while Pierre was placed on bail in the sum of $4000. Both were ordered to have no contact with Thomas.
