Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia Association formed in SVG

An association to address the critical needs of individuals living with dementia, their family and caregivers has been established in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Association is a non-profit organization founded to raise awareness and educate Vincentians about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, a release from the organization said.

The Association is led by an eight-member board, “each of whom brings unique expertise and a shared commitment to improving the quality of life for those affected by dementia”. Based in SVG, the organization will provide education, resources, and services to support individuals living with and affected by dementia.

“We are committed to raising awareness, promoting early detection, and enhancing the overall well-being of those facing the challenges of dementia,” the release said.

The Association has planned two educational, community activities in November. These events aim to unite individuals, families, and community members in a collective effort to raise awareness and build connections within the community.
