More space needed for cemeteries

Government is now faced with the task of finding more land for people across St Vincent and the Grenadines to bury their loved ones.

So far, 11 cemeteries have been identified as having a challenge with space and are in need of expansion or replacement.

Minister of Transport and Works, Montgomery Daniel, said this request for expansion or replacement of cemeteries has been submitted to his ministry.

Daniel who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, spoke about this matter on NBC radio last Wednesday, July 5th, in his capacity as acting Prime Minister.

He said the cemeteries which are in need of expansion or replacement are at: Dark View, Rose Hall,

Belmont, Richland Park, Greiggs, Port Elizabeth, Glebe Hill, Clifton, Lowmans Leeward, Golden Vale and Georgetown.
