Mother and daughter found guilty of assault

After a full trial, a mother and her daughter were both found guilty of beating another woman and were bonded and ordered to pay compensation.

Kelise Sheppard and her mother, Inola Collis, of Rillan Hill were found guilty of the June 7, 2022 assault on Angel Primus of Rillan Hill when they appeared at the Serious Offences Court on June 20.

Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne, ordered each to pay compensation of $300, fifty percent of which must be paid by June 23. Failure to do so will result in one month’s imprisonment. The other $150 must be paid by June 30. Failure to do so will also result in imprisonment for one month.

The two women were also bonded for nine months in the sum of $1500. If they breach the bond, they will be required to pay the money forthwith or spend nine months in prison.
