New Montrose man on bail, charged with stabbing journalist

A NEW MONTROSE man will stand trial on a wounding charge after he pleaded not guilty to stabbing a journalist about his body.

Tevin Ollivierre appeared at the Serious Offences Court on May 30, before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne, where he pleaded not guilty that on April 3, at Pauls Avenue he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Anthony Lyf Compton of Gibson Corner.

The accused was initially granted station bail in the sum of $2,500. However, the magistrate upgraded his bail to $3,500 with one surety.

He was ordered to have no contact with Compton. The matter has been adjourned and transferred to the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court for hearing on July, 24.
