Lotto jackpot will be an ‘ease up’ for winner’s bank loan

Mt. Pleasant resident, Kevin Bynoe received a cheque for EC$220,000 on Valentines Day after winning the latest lotto jackpot.

The jackpot was drawn last Friday, February 10, and Bynoe collected his cheque on Tuesday, February 14 during a press conference hosted by the National Lotteries Authority (NLA).

The winning ticket was purchased in Stubbs where the sales outlet will receive 1.5% in commission.

Bynoe, who matched all five numbers: 3, 8, 22, 35, and 36 expressed his pleasure at winning the jackpot, and shared his plans for the use of the money.

“…I’m grateful for winning this jackpot…my family usually buys Play 4 more often than lotto and super 6, but I’m grateful for winning the lotto jackpot Friday.

“ …funds will mainly go for the loan at the bank so thanks for the ease up…”

Manager of the NLA, McGregor Sealey had some words of advice for the jackpot winner.

“I just want to congratulate Mr Bynoe on his winnings. I always say, from my vantage point at the National Lotteries, I have seen so many winners who have won larger jackpots than this and they just waste it, so I hope that you won’t be one of them.

“I want to encourage you please to use this money wisely and…I hope you would spend a lot of this money towards your children’s education.”

Bynoe’s winning ticket was a quick pick.
