BISHOPS COLLEGE Kingstown aims to turn its students into entrepreneurs in the field of Agriculture Science.

And this was evident at the school’s World Food Day Exhibition yesterday, October 20 where students prepared a wide range of local foods and took to the school for the display.

Minister of Agriculture, Saboto Ceasar

Its Agriculture Science teacher, Lisa Jacobs explained to SEARCHLIGHT the reason for the exhibition and its benefits to students.

“I am trying my best to groom future entrepreneurs, so basically by doing this initiative, they will be able to showcase their creativity, being able to present themselves in a professional manner by having their flyers, their business cards on display.”

Jacobs added, “rather than having to depend on the Ministry of Agriculture or depending on other persons, they can be self-employed and they will be able to be future positive persons in St.Vincent and the Grenadines.”

Minister of Agriculture, Saboto Ceasar, turned up during the exhibition and donated to the school’s agriculture programme a hand tractor valued at $4,500.00.

“We are aware that, to get young persons involved in Agriculture, we have to provide you with machines,” Caesar said. “We are asking you to take care of it, it’s a property of the school but most of all, ensure that you get a critical understanding of how it use it.” Minister Ceasar said the Ministry of Agriculture be more closely associated with the school’s Agriculture programme.
